Quick answers about Narrow Groups, wide queue limits, selected role ranks, and what your squad needs to change.
A Wide Group is a Core Competitive party whose highest and lowest selected role ranks are farther apart than the Narrow Group limit. Wide Groups use a separate matchmaking pool, while groups inside the limit are Narrow.
When the highest player is Bronze through Diamond, including Emerald, the limit is 5 divisions. The limit is 2 divisions for Master or Grandmaster and 1 division for Champion.
No. A Wide Group with exactly four players cannot enter the Core Competitive queue. The checker marks that lineup as unable to queue instead of only calling it Wide.
For Role Queue, select the role each person plans to play: Tank, Damage (DPS), or Support. WideQueue compares that role's current rank, so one player can produce a different result on another role.
WideQueue converts every tier and division into one continuous rank ladder, then subtracts the lowest position from the highest. For example, a 5-division gap is Narrow when the highest player is Diamond or below, while a 6-division gap is Wide.
After a Wide result, the planner shows the minimum number of upward divisions needed for the lowest-ranked player or suggests another five-player role lineup from a six-person squad. Nobody has to rank down for those suggestions.
No. You can enter every rank manually or look up public career data with a BattleTag. Saved squads and linked profile references stay in this browser, and shared links do not include BattleTags.
Yes. The game is now branded Overwatch, but this checker covers the current Core Competitive system that many players still search for as Overwatch 2, OW2, wide queue, or wide match.
